Dredging on the Sacramento River Delta, c. 1905

My grandfather Oscar Alber Anderson imigrated from Sweden in 1902. He arrived in Boston and worked his way across the country to California. Here he worked in this dredge, possibly as a blacksmith. It was here that he caught malaria.
